WJCNY Worker Poets to Present at PEN Global Festival in NYC

WJCNY is partnering with the PEN American Center to provide farmworkers in the Hudson Valley with an opportunity to participate in creative writing courses and present their work at the 2014 World Voices Festival in New York City on May 3rd. PEN American Center is a human rights writers’ organization that works to ensure that people everywhere have the freedom to create literature, to convey information and ideas, to express their views, and to make it possible for everyone to access the views, ideas, and literatures of others. PEN aims to bring down barriers to free expression and reaching across borders to celebrate, through writing, our common humanity. The writing workshops will run from November, 2013 through April, 2014. The 2014 World Voices Festival will run from Monday, April 28th through Sunday, May 4th. We invite you to participate in a culminating public event with us on Saturday, May 3rd in New York City.
